Through connections, Barbara heard about balance wheelchairs and eventually came to 2KERR. During the test drive, she particularly noticed how smoothly the Genny Urban handles, even on uneven surfaces. The threshold to the riding school, the cobblestones on the property, the gravel paths around the stables – things she had previously dreaded – suddenly felt achievable again.
Together with 2KERR, she looked at her daily routes: from home to the riding school, past the stables, through the riding arena. The Genny Urban fit perfectly: compact, maneuverable, and stable enough to navigate calmly among horses and people.
“For me, the question was mainly: can I move safely among the horses with this? In the stable, in the arena, maybe even guiding outdoor rides? The Genny gave me immediate confidence.”

The first time Barbara drove the Genny Urban into the stable, it was quite exciting. Not so much for herself, but mainly: how would her horse Henry react?
It turned out to be quite manageable. Henry startled a bit at the new sound, sniffed a little, but soon calmed down. Barbara took it step by step: first just around the stable, then riding past him, and later together through the aisle towards the grooming area. Before long, Henry walked as relaxed beside the Genny Urban as he used to beside Barbara with a stool.
“You can really tell that horses respond mainly to your energy,” Barbara says. “Because I felt confident in the Genny, Henry followed along almost instinctively. It was a huge relief that he adapted to the balance wheelchair so quickly.”
Part of the riding school again
Thanks to the Genny Urban, Barbara is no longer a 'visitor' to the riding school, but once again part of daily life there. She can:
Drive independently to the stable without needing help.
Take Henry out of the stable and guide him to the grooming area.
Teach lessons next to the arena, as she can easily drive along the side and maintain overview.
Ride around the property and along the paddocks with the other riders.
Not everything is like it used to be – she can't ride Henry every day – but the connection is back. She feels like part of the chatter of the stable, the smell of hay, the sound of saddles being knocked, the soft whinny when she drives in in the morning.
What the Genny Urban means for Barbara
For Barbara, the Genny Urban is more than just a way to get from A to B. It is the key back to her world with horses.
“It’s not that all my limitations have suddenly disappeared,” she admits. “But I no longer have to stay on the sidelines. I’m back in the game. I roll into the stable, I stroke Henry on his nose, I can join in the conversation, help out, participate. That is worth so much.”
Barbara and Henry are back together where they belong: in and around the riding school. The Genny Urban ensures that this isn’t just a beautiful memory, but a daily reality.
