Sinterklaas Parade 2025: Texel and Eindhoven Fully Focus on Accessibility

Texel & Eindhoven, November 15, 2025. The national Sinterklaas parade will dock this afternoon in the harbor of Texel and has been specifically designed this year for accessible viewing, great for everyone with a balance wheelchair or (electric) wheelchair. Meanwhile, the city parade in Eindhoven takes center stage with inclusivity: Wheelie Piet participates in a balance wheelchair, in collaboration with 2KERR, to demonstrate how to maneuver smoothly in a crowded parade, make eye contact at height, and maintain control. Joining in, your way and at your pace, is exactly what 2KERR works on every day.

Texel: live at 12:00 PM, parade starts at 12:30 PM
The broadcast starts at 12:00 PM on NPO Zapp (NPO 3). Around 12:30 PM, the parade will start moving along the quay. If you want to watch comfortably, arrive a bit earlier and choose a spot with a clear view and room to maneuver. The route goes over cobblestones with some grates; so drive carefully—especially in wet weather. Wheelchair-accessible MIVA toilets can be found in and around the harbor (check on-site or via HogeNood). Between 12:00 and 1:30 PM, it will be busiest; a boundary area with exit possibilities provides an overview. Travel smart: take TESO to ’t Horntje, then Texelhopper line 28 (to Den Burg) and by reservation the minibus to Oudeschild. By car, follow the N501 and the signs for event parking.

Eindhoven: Wheelie Piet Makes Participation Visible

In Eindhoven, the parade is also dedicated to celebrating accessibility. Around 12:30 PM, Sinterklaas departs from Paterskerk – Hotel Mariënhage towards 18 Septemberplein, where from 12:30 to 3:00 PM, singing, dancing, a welcome from the mayor, and photo opportunities with Sinterklaas & Pieten are on the program. Wheelie Piet will demonstrate how to make tight turns on cobblestones and keep calm in a crowd. From 3:30 to 5:00 PM, De Grote Sinterklaas Bingo (tickets available on-site; vouchers to be redeemed on the day of the event).
Practically: the city center mainly consists of cobblestones and squares. Choose—especially with a wheelchair—a spot with a clear view and an exit route. Use restaurants or HogeNood for the nearest MIVA toilet. For balance or electric models: depart with 100% battery and steer with short, gentle movements around the podium and equipment.

Smart Viewing = Peace of Mind
Choose your spot before it really fills up. Look for a flat surface without high edges, with the option to step back a few meters if stimuli increase. Utilize the strengths of your balance wheelchair where possible: small turning radius to avoid getting stuck; height function for visibility and eye contact. Go together: agree on who walks next to you and who will act as a “space guardian” for small children and backpacks. Consider weather & comfort (warm coat, gloves, rain cover) and plan a rest point (bench or café). Determine one clear exit location in advance—so you don’t have to improvise in the moment.

How 2KERR Helps – Today and Tomorrow
