On vacation with a balance wheelchair.

Go into the woods, onto the beach, or through the city.

On vacation with a balance wheelchair: it’s possible!

Agile & stable — also on the road
Turn smoothly in hotel corridors and elevators, maneuver between terrace tables, and maintain control on rough terrain towards the beach access or campground path.

Truly all-terrain — beach, woods, and city
One vacation day, three worlds: from sand and grass to cobblestones, curbs, and promenades. You roll through — to the beach tent, the forest path, and the evening market.

Controls that suit you
Actively steer with your upper body for that path to the viewpoint, or relax in joystick mode during the city trip. You choose what feels comfortable.

Proven in practice
Models with 4-wheel/off-road mode and higher seat functions provide extra assurance on beach sand, cobblestones, and viewpoint terraces. Great for photos at eye level and stable entry into rental cars or campers.

Whether you're driving or booking a flight

With a balance wheelchair, you can travel without worries.

Balance wheelchair in the car
By folding or removing the steering wheel, backrest, and footrest, a balance wheelchair fits in many cars (hatchback, station wagon). Loading and unloading is easiest with (foldable) ramps. Tip: drive in balance mode — without sitting on it — safely into the car. Mark the ideal seat position with tape and secure the chair with tie-downs or straps.

Camper: vacation feeling from the driveway
With a camper, the balance wheelchair becomes part of your routine: morning bread rolls, afternoon forest path, evening by the lake. Due to the higher loading threshold, a slightly longer ramp often works more comfortably. We recommend per model (Bi-Go, Freee F2, Genny Zero, Genny Urban) and ensure a stable, quiet fixation.

Car rental at your destination
Renting a car on-site? Bring tie-downs/straps to securely fasten the wheelchair. Preferably ask for a minivan; it easily accommodates a flight case plus a separate balance wheelchair — handy for luggage and ramps.

Flying with a balance wheelchair (power/powered wheelchair)
Airlines are strict with Lithium-ion batteries. A standard “Segway wheelchair” is often not allowed; however, there are possibilities as a wheelchair. Notify your balance wheelchair in advance, provide battery details/weight, and plan extra time for check-in and oversized baggage. Traveling is easiest with a flight case or Cargo Box: the chair rolls in, stays upright, and is protected from sliding or lying down.

Smart solution: Flightcase / Cargo Box
After less favorable experiences with handling, customers found peace of mind with a Flightcase: ramps and luggage inside, exchanging at the counter, luggage on the belt, and the balance wheelchair safely in the box. Result: less chance of damage, more grip on the road. 2KERR can lend a Cargo Box/Flightcase and provides practical guidance. For more information, contact us.

2KERR vacation tips

Preparation
• Notify your balance wheelchair in advance to the airline/travel agent; ask for forms for transport as a wheelchair.
• Check your (travel) insurance and note emergency numbers.
• Consider a Flightcase/Cargo Box for extra protection.

At the airport
• Allow plenty of time; three hours is often tight.
• Label & document: name/phone on the chair; specs (battery/weight) both digital and printed.

At your destination
• Charging: check 110/220V and bring the correct adapter (folding electric wheelchair/charger).
• Tires: due to air pressure differences, tires may be softer; a 12V compressor helps.
• Securing: bring a small board for under the back leg — this keeps everything flat.
• Rental car: ask for a minivan (e.g., 9-seater) for Flightcase + balance wheelchair.
