"Obstacles do not exist. Challenges do."

For Doreen, accessibility is not about impossibilities, but about finding solutions that allow people to go out independently again.
She has been actively working for a long time to make the Pieterpad and other nature areas more accessible for people with disabilities.
From forest paths and walking routes to practical accessibility on the go, she knows from her own experience how much difference independent mobility can make.

Not only physically, but also mentally.

Being outside means more than just walking

For many users, this means not only more mobility but also more peace, spontaneity, and self-confidence. Not having to constantly think about limitations, energy, or dependence but just being outside again.
From forest paths and dunes to nature areas and walking routes, many users experience how much difference a balance wheelchair can make.

  • Being able to enter the forest independently.
  • Being able to join a walk with family or friends.
  • Not falling behind, but being on the way together.
  • Experiencing a route instead of just looking at it.

More freedom on unpaved paths

During the opening, we took several balance wheelchairs to show how much difference mobility can make on challenging surfaces.
Especially on gravel paths, hills, forest routes, and unpaved walking paths, balance wheelchairs make the difference between staying at home or participating independently for many users. With more stability, active joystick control, and off-road capabilities, there is more freedom to move independently outside and remain an active part of social moments.

From a walk in the forest to a weekend away in nature.
