Tips for charging your Seated Segway

Now that it’s starting to get colder, you have to be extra careful when charging your Seated Segway. Is your Seated Segway parked in a shed or garage, for example? Then there is a chance that your Seated Segway will not charge properly. Read the following tips so that you are well prepared.

Charging the Seated Segway battery

A minimum temperature is required to properly charge a battery, for example when it gets too cold in your shed or garage in the winter, the Seated Segway will not charge. When you put the plug in the socket, the lights will light up, but due to the (too) low temperature, the signal from the charger is not passed on to the battery. It looks like your Seated Segway is charging, but that is not the case.

It is therefore best to charge your Seated Segway in the winter indoors or at least in a room that is at room temperature. An indoor storage room or a heated garage is of course a good solution.

With these tips, the battery of your Seated Segway will last longer:

  • Always check the user manual for your specific battery and follow the instructions carefully.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures, it is best to park your Seated Segway in a room at room temperature.
  • Attempt to never completely discharge the battery. If this does happen, it is important that you charge your Seated Segway as soon as possible to prevent deep discharge.
  • So charge the Seated Segway regularly, even if you use it less. Do this at least once a month.
  • Make sure your tire pressure is correct, a low tire pressure means a higher rolling resistance and that will demand more from the battery.
